The two witnesses are Enoch and Elijah.

Neither died during their stay on planet earth -

both were translated to

Heaven.

Enoch lived before the flood - maybe he had a pet dinosaur.

He prophesied that a great time of judgment would come to earth

and millions would return with The LORD to see it happen.

Jude 14 and 15

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with thousands upon thousands of his saints,

To execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way,and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

note - In Revelation 4 Today, Elijah and Enoch are presented as the two witnesses - John the Apostle is another possibility.
