The two witnesses are taken to Heaven at the midpoint of the seven

year tribulation. They worked for three and one half years.

They were a major threat to the beast - he was at war with them.

All the military resources of the earth against two men from

Heaven.

How futile are man's efforts to fight God.

Revelation 11:5

If any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and

devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in

this manner be killed.

note - In Revelation 4 Today, Elijah and Enoch are presented as the two witnesses - John the Apostle is another possibility.
